Student Assistant Position: Digital media and Administration

We are looking for a perfectionistic student assistant who would support us in web content management, social media presence, small graphic design tasks, video cutting, and other administrative work such as organizing and running workshops.

Main duties and responsibilities include: regular updating the website of the Professorship with media responses, talks, courses etc. (using user-friendly Content Management System from Adobe); cutting and basic editing of videos and uploading them on YouTube; posting content on ResearchGate, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Blogspot etc.; supporting our Project Manager’s communication activities of the FuturICT 2.0 project; helping with management of events such as FuturICT 2.0 workshops, nervousnet hackathons…; searching for Creative Commons photos and videos for presentations, adding captions; creating graphic design such as posters for events (mostly using InDesign templates), visualisations, logos, book covers etc. or organising related bids to companies; updating lists of research publications (using Google Scholar, ETH e-Citations) and other administrative support. The salary is 28 CHF per hour.

The ideal candidate is a student at ETH Zurich or University of Zurich and has experience with social media administration, web content management (foremost Wordpress) and Adobe Illustrator/InDesign or alternative editors. He/she is highly organized, showing attention to detail and capable of prioritizing high volumes of tasks. Advanced use of MS Office, strong communications skills and proficiency in English are a must. Finally the candidate is reliable and loyal.
