Während der Konferenz: «Privatsphäre, Datenschutz, Gemeinwohl: Ethische, rechtliche und soziale Herausforderungen der Nutzung von Gesundheitsdaten für die Forschung» hält Professor Helbing einen Vortrag zum Thema: ‘Gesundheitsdaten: Kommt die Regulierung schon zu spät?’.

Professor Dirk Helbing takes part in the panel discussion and addressed the following questions from his professional perspective and expertise: - What do you expect from this UFSP in the field of technological-social developments?  - Are religion and digitality two all too unequal siblings or do they form a logical and absolutely necessary connection?  

Professor Dirk Helbing takes part in the TEDx Conference “The Dawn of a New Era” in Geneva. With his talk “Who Is Messing With Your Digital Twin? Body, Mind and Soul for Sale?” he describes future challenges of the digital age.

Together with the From Game Theory to Computational Social Science and Beyond block course, the From Game Theory to Computational Social Science and Beyond workshop is held at the chair of computational social science.

Professor Helbing will be giving a talk under the title "Die Digitalisierung: Tor zu einem neuen Zeitalter" in Technoparkstrasse 1, Zürich on the 4^th of June 2019.

June 3, 2019 Nax attends the 4th Swiss Theory Day, hosted by Georg Nöldeke at the University of Basel.

Heinrich Nax will give the ESI Brown Bag Lecture on May 8, 2019, at Chapman University.

Professor Helbing gives a talk titled "Legitimacy of International Institutions  (ILO) – Part 1" at the Global Studies Institute (GSI) of the University of Geneva on the 4^th of April 2019.  

With a critical view on most of today's "cryptoeconomic designs", Michael will speak about how to structure complexity, the role of blockchain technology for socio-technical systems, and how he uses a new simulation tool to inform design decisions.

Professor Helbing gives a talk titled "Participatory Sustainability: From Finance 4.0 to Climate City Cups and Beyond…" in Geneva on the 21^st of March 2019. This will be a part of the Climate City Hackathon in preparation for the Climate City Cup.

Professor Helbing gives a talk titled "Künstliche Intelligenz und wie sie unsere Arbeitswelt verändern könnte" at ABU Conference in Gewerbliches Berufs- und Weiterbildungszentrum, Demutstrasse 115, 9012, St. Gallen on the 20^th of March 2019.

Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk “Game theory in public goods and CPR contexts” at the Laboratory on Human-Environment Relations in Urban Systems at EPFL on April 4, 2019.

Professor Helbing gives a talk titled "Engineering Social Technologies for a Responsible Digital Future" in the World Conference Center in Bonn. He will be speaking at the "Digital Ethics Conference" hosted by Deutsche Telekom, on the 13^th of March 2019.

The talk will be a part of the Quadriga Political Campaign Festival about Opportunities, Risks, and Possible Future.

Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk on “Noise and learning: An experimental perspective” at the Learning, Games and Networks Seminar at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, on February 12, 2019.

Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk on “Dynamics in Buyer-Seller Markets: Theory and Experimental Evidence” at the Rodeo Seminar at Ca’Foscari University in Venice on 12.12.2018. 

Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk at the annual Rational Choice Sociology meetings on the island of San Servolo, Italy. The conference takes place from the 12^th to the 15^th of November 2018. Nax will speak about the so-called “Dictator Games” and the various ways they are used in experimental economics.

Nax gives a talk at “Online experiments – Quick? Cheap? Valid?”, a conference on Online Experimental Research, which will be held on the 6^th and 7^th of November 2018, at the University of Zurich. He will be speaking about Experiments run on MTurk.

After the summer break, we are resuming our Blockchain Research Zurich Meetup. To kick off the autumn series with our fourth meetup, Prof. Claudio Tessone is guest-hosting us at UZH. This gives us all a nice opportunity to learn about what topics our colleagues at UZH are working on in the blockchain space.

Heinrich Nax will give a talk at the Arne Ryde conference on Learning, Evolution, and Games at Lund, Sweden on 05.06.2018. The talk is titled "Dynamics in buyer-seller markets: theory and lab experiments".

In three talks at Kochi University of Technology and Kyoto University in Japan, Caleb Koch speaks about rethinking free-riding and discusses index-wise comparative statics.

In the lecture, Nax discusses old and new evidence from controlled lab and online experiments concerning market dynamics. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, the 2^nd of May 2018, from 12:00 to 13:15.

Caleb M. Koch will be giving a talk titled: 'Tools for robust economic predictions'. The talk is a part of the Behavioral Colloquium of D-GESS, ETH Zurich, and will take place from 13:15 to 14:15 on the 27^th of March, 2018 in HG E 33.3.

Heinrich Nax gave a lecture on Market Dynamics: Evidence from Lab Experiments at the DPG spring meetings in Berlin. On the theme of economic models, Nax discusses old and new evidence from controlled lab and online experiments concerning market dynamics. The lecture took place on Tuesday, the 13^th ofMarch 2018, 10:15–10:45.  

Professor Dirk Helbing gave a keynote speech “The Digital Revolution: Why it will start a new Era of Human History” and participated in a roundtable with other experts at Swissnex Brazil in Rio de Janeiro on the 20^th of December, 2017.

Heinrich Nax will be giving a lecture at the Sociological Institute at the University of Zurich on 12.12.2017. The title of the talk will be "Dynamics and learning in social dilemmas".  

Nax, Newton and Pradelski organized a one-day workshop in Oxford on Dynamics in buyer-seller markets: Behavioral evidence and theory. The workshop took place on the 29^th of November, 2017, at Oxford-Man Institute, Eagle House, Walton Well Road, Oxford, OX2 6ED.  

Dr. Evangelos Pournaras will be among the keynote speakers at the "International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions" with a contribution titled Participatory Self-management Systems for Resilient Smart Cities.

Caleb Koch and Heinrich Nax will be presenting their work on groundwater at the KAUST-NSF Research Conference on Environmental Monitoring which will be held from the 6^th to the 8^th of November, 2017.

Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk at the workshop on Social Norms in Multi-Ethnic Societies: Bridging Behavioural Social Sciences at BEELab. The workshop will be held at the University of Firenze, Italy on November 2-4, 2017.

Dr. Marcus M. Dapp will be running a session titled "Digital sustainability, blockchain and the age of decentralization" at the conference for digital sustainability, DINAcon 2017.The speech will be held on the 20^th of October, 2017 from 14.00 to 15.30 at Welle7, Bern.

On September 26, 2017, Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk at the Computation, Nature and Society Think Tank at Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. The talk will take place in room BC 010 at 15:30.      

On September 6, 2017, Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk at Kreyon Conference organized by Sapienza Univ. of Rome.  

On September 18, 2017, Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk at the GfeW (Gesellschaft für experimentelle Wirtschaftsforschung) Annual Conference. The conference will be held in Kassel from September 18 to 20, 2017.  

On the 16.09.2017 Prof. Helbing will give a talk titled "Superintelligenz – und dann?"

On September 4, 2017, Heinrich Nax will be giving a talk at the VfS (Verein für Socialpolitik) Annual Conference "Alternative Architectures for Money and Banking". The conference will be held at the University of Vienna from September 3 to 6, 2017.

On 02.09.2017 Dr. Evangelos Pournaras will give a talk on "Making sharing economies more sustainable" at Scientifica.

On Thursday, July 20 at 19:00, Evangelos Pournaras will give a talk on Engineering Democratization in Internet of Things Data Analytics. The talk will be held at the Toni-Areal in Zurich.

COSS team members Caleb M. Koch and Heinrich H. Nax will be holding a public discussion on common-pool resource usage, hosted by the Upper Big Blue (UBB) District in York, Nebraska. The presentation will begin with their research on groundwater-usage behaviour in the UBB area, followed by a panel discussion on the questions and implications the research raises regarding appropriate public responses to depleting groundwater levels.The discussion will be held on July 11^th from 19:30–20:30.

COSS team members Duca, Koch, Nax and Pradelski will be giving talks at the 28th International Conference on Game Theory (in honor of Pradeep Dubey and Yair Tauman). The conference will be held from July 17 to 21, 2017 at Stony Brook University, USA.     

Heinrich Nax and Bary Pradelski will be speaking at the Workshop on Adaptive Learning: Theory, Data, and Applications,held by the Stony Brook Center for Game Theory. The workshop takes place from July 14 - 16, 2017 in the New Computer Science Building at Stony Brook University.

As part of the "TREE-Konferenz: Technische Autonomie im Diskurs", Professor Dirk Helbing took part in panel discussions on the topic of technical autonomy where intelligent technology replaces people. The conference took place at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg on 09.06.2017.

Stefano Duca, Caleb M. Koch and Heinrich Nax will be speaking at the International Conference at the Congressi Stefano Franscini (CSF) of ETH Zurich, Monte Verità, Ascona.The conference is titled Human Dimensions of Environmental Risks and will be taking place from May 21-26, 2017.   

Heinrich Nax gave a talk titled "Learning in contests and games of substitutes and complements: theory and evidence" on Monday, 15^th of May, 2017 at 13.15 at Lund University, Sweden.  

Professor Dirk Helbing will be taking part in a podium discussion in German language: "SWR2 Forum: Diktatur 2.0 - Wie die Digitalisierung unsere Freiheit bedroht" on the 21^st of June, from 18:00 to 19:00 at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, Germany. The threat that digitalization poses to freedom and privacy will be discussed.

Professor Dirk Helbing will be giving a keynote speech at the Personalmanagementkongress 2017 on June 30, 2017 in Berlin, Germany. The congress aims at discussing the evolution of successful HR work in a disruptive market environment.

Professor Dirk Helbing will be taking part in a podium discussion in German language titled: "Big Data -Die Vermessung des Lebens" on May 26, 2017 at 11:00 at Festung Mark, Magdeburg, Germany.

As part of the European Public Society Conference, Caleb Koch will be presenting work co-authored with Izabela Moise, Emina Boudemagh, Karsten Donnay, and Dirk Helbing under the title: “Dynamics between mass media and asylum acceptance rates” on the 20^th of April, 2017. The conference will be held at the Central European Institute in Budapest, Hungary.  

Dirk Helbing will speak at the Complexity Science Hub Workshop in Vienna under the title: "Re-inventing society in the digital age". The event will take place on the 8^th and 9^th of May, 2017.

Dr. Heinrich Nax will be giving an introductory lecture titled "Learning in strategic interactions: theory and evidence", at ETH Zurich, IFW Building room A36 on April 12, 2017 from 17:15 to 18:30.  

Professor Dirk Helbing will be giving the keynote address at the Persuasive Technology XII conference on April 6, 2017 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The conference is hosted by the Persuasive Health Technology Lab, part of the Centre for eHealth & Wellbeing at the University of Twente, the Netherlands.

Professor Dirk Helbing will be giving the opening speech of the event seismograph: Die Welt von morgen – Utopien. Prognosen. Science Fiction,an event of the Volkshochschule beider Basel. The speech, which will be given in German, is titled "Der Traum vom Weltsimulator und die Zukunft der Menschheit". He will also be participating in the panel discussion. The event will take place on April 1, 2017, at Markthalle Basel, Basel, Switzerland.    

Dr. Max Roser, a senior research fellow at the Institute of New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School, will be speaking on March 13^th, at 3.15 pm at CLU building C1. The title of his talk is "Publishing science online – what is possible?", and he will be discussing the possibilities that online publication offers. 

Professor Dirk Helbing will be giving the welcome speech at the panel discussion "Digitales Ich – Digitales Wir: Digitalisierung und die Zukunft der Demokratie" at Leopoldina, Halle, Germany, on Friday March 24, 17:00. 

Professor Dirk Helbing will be giving a keynote speech at the Netherlands Study Centre for Technology Trends (STT) Symposium "Meer Data". The speech will discuss the future of data and society. The event will take place in the Hague, Netherlands, on Thursday March 9, 2017.

“Meritocratic Matching Can Dissolve the Efficiency-Equality Tradeoff” is the title of the talk Heinrich Nax will be giving in the PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) Society Inaugural Meeting, which will take place from the 16^th to the 18^th of March, 2017 in New Orleans.    

As part of the 4th Day on Computational Game Theory workshop at ETH Zurich, Heinrich Nax will be presenting his work on Behavioural Foundations of Dynamics and Bary Pradelski will give a talk about Decentralized Dynamics and Fast Convergence in the Assignment Game. The talks will be given on the 17^th of February, 2017.

Professor Dirk Helbing will be giving a talk in Amsterdam on good and bad ways of using data, as part of the monthly seminar series on Responsible Data Science (RDS) by the Amsterdam Data Science initiative. The talk will take place on Thursday, 16^th of February, at the Doelenzaal, UvA Library, Singel 425 (Room C0.07 - Doelenzaal, Building C, Ground Floor).     

As part of the event "NADEL Methods Days", Izabela Moise & Caleb M. Koch will be presenting joint work with E. Boudemagh, K. Donnay, and D. Helbing under the title “How mass media shapes asylum acceptance rates”. The talk will take place on January 19, 2017, from 09:00 to 11:00 in the CLD B 2 building.  

On the occasion of the Ignaz L. Lieben award ceremony, Professor Dirk Helbing will be participating in a panel discussion with leading complexity researchers at the Austrian Academy of Sciences on February 2^nd, 2017.

The guest talk by Miquel Oliu Barto will be held on Wednesday 25, 2017, at 16:00 in the COSS Building CLU - room C1.

Professor Dirk Helbing will be delivering the keynote speech at the OCG Jahresopening 2017. The title of the talk will be "Mobility 4.0" and will discuss how digital technology will transform the mobility sector. The talk will take place at the Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft (OCG, Austrian Computer Society) in Vienna on Tuesday, 24.01.2017.

Dr. Ovi Chris Rouly will be presenting a session with the title "Designing (artificial) life: Emergent sociality and collective intelligence using situated and embodied machine intelligence" at the International Congress on Agent Computing on Wednesday, 30.11.2016. The Congress will be held at the Research Hall, George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, USA.

Dirk Helbing will give a speech during the ETH Treffpunkt Science City "Erlebnissonntag" on 27. 11. 2016, at Zurich - Hönggerberg.

The talk is part of the CONTROL SEMINAR SERIES and will take place at 15:15, in the LFW E11 building of the ETH Zurich.  

Prof. Dr. Dirk Helbing will be giving a seminar talk with the title "How Artificial Intelligence is Used to Control the World and Our Behavior" from 17:00 to 18:30 on Monday, 12. December 2016 at the seminar room 310/311, N55, UKE Campus.  

Professor Helbing will talk at the conference about impact of robotisation. It will take place at the Beurs van Berlage (Dutch stock exchange) Conference Center.

His talk "Market behavior when more information becomes available over time" is part of the Learning, Games, and Networks Seminar at Nuffield College (University of Oxford). It will take place on Tuesday, November 22^nd, 2016 from 16:30 to 17:30 in Nuffield College, Staircase L, Conference Room (upstairs).  

Dirk Helbing will be discussing with Yvonne Hofstetter, Constanze Kurz and Gert Scobel on Friday November 4th at 8 p.m. in Heidelberg in Germany.

Dirk Helbing will deliver a talk The future of society in the digital age on November 3rd, 2016 in Bologna.  

Discussion is organised by Stiftung Neue Verantwortung, a leading German Think-Tank focused on Digital Revolution. It will take place in Berlin on October, 18 at 6:30 pm.  

His talk "Payoff-based dynamics in transferable-utility matching markets" will be part of a seminar on Combinatorics, Games and Optimisation at LSE in the UK. It will take place on Wednesday October 12th, in the room TW1.2.03, Tower One.  

The talk "Was bleibt übrig nach der digitalen Revolution" will take place in October 10th, 2016, at 18:00 in Vienna, Austria. Prof. Helbing will be the keynote speaker at the symposium on digitalization of society.

Aidas Masiliunas will talk in our team on October 4, 2016 at 13:00 in C1 about his work on learning in contest games. He is a post-doctoral researcher at Aix-Marseille School of Economics.

The 2016 ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp 2016) will be held in Heidelberg, Germany. Prof. Helbing will deliver a talk "The digital transformation is just the beginning" on September 12th.

The Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) and IDIDS Institute (USI) are organizing a workshop in Data Science from September 13 to September 15, 2016 in Lugano, Switzerland. Izabela Moise will be one of the instructors responsible for 2 sessions for the students.

His talk Automatisierung der Mobilität – Ein Blick in die nahe Zukunft will take place on September 4th, 2016 in Magliaso, Switzerland.

Prof. Helbing will take part in a discussion session on the topic Künstliche Intelligenz & Ethik: Was kann und was darf KI? The event will take place on September 2nd, 2016 in Berlin, Radialsystem. 

Heinrich Nax will be presenting his work on “Scoring mechanisms“ in Urs Fischbacher’s group on September 8th in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland.

The 2nd International Workshop on Data-driven Self-regulating Systems held in Augsburg (Germany) will be held on the 12th of September. Dirk Helbing will deliver the keynote speech.

The session will be part of the 22nd European Conference On Artificial Intelligence (ECAI2016) at Peace Palace, in The Hague, The Netherlands on September 1, 2016.

Heinrich Nax and Bary Pradelski will be giving talks on Evolutionary Game Theory on August 24th and 26th 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland.  

The talk Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things: Towards Smarter Societies will be part of the 22nd European Conference On Artificial Intelligence (ECAI2016), which will take place on August 30th, in The Hague, The Netherlands.
