Netzwoche: Bund appoints a new Big Data group

Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf has appointed a new expert group - against the will of the Federal Council. The group should deal with data processing and security and Professor Dirk Helbing will be one of the members.

The name of the new elected expert group is „The future of data processing and security" ("Zukunft der Datenbearbeitung und Datensicherheit"). The former National Councillor Brigitta Gadient will lead the group which consists of scientists Dirk Helbing, Adrian Perrig, Nicolas Gisin, Jean-Pierre Hubaux and Mathias Kaiserwerth; legal experts Ursula Widmer and Rolf Weber; business and communication representatives Thomas Pletscher and Regula Hänggli; and government representatives Luzius Mader, Peter Fischer and Hanspeter Thür.
